Clinical TherapistMarland E. Rivers, Sr. is a Clinical Therapist at White Light Behavioral Health in Columbus, Ohio, with two years of experience in the behavioral health field. His commitment to this work is deeply influenced by personal and lived experience, which fuels his dedication to supporting individuals as they navigate their own paths toward recovery, healing, and personal growth. Marland works with individuals experiencing substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions through both individual and group-based services. He is passionate about creating a supportive environment where clients can recognize their strengths, regain a sense of agency, and develop the skills needed to make meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. His therapeutic approach incorporates a variety of evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relapse Prevention Therapy, and Twelve-Step Facilitation. By drawing from multiple therapeutic approaches, Marland is able to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs, experiences, and recovery goals. One of the most meaningful aspects of Marland’s work is helping individuals within the substance use disorder community reclaim ownership of their lives. His goal is to empower clients to become the best versions of themselves while recognizing the positive impact their recovery can have on their families, loved ones, and communities. Outside of his professional life, Marland cherishes spending quality time with his family. He is also an avid collector of Jordan 1 sneakers and enjoys working on his Corvette. These interests provide an important sense of joy and balance in his life.
