Marla Baxter, LPCC-S

Clinical Supervisor

Marla Baxter, LPCC-S, is a Clinical Supervisor with 20 years of experience in the behavioral health and substance use field and has been a licensed therapist since 2015. Her dedication to this work is rooted in a deep desire to support individuals affected by addiction while recognizing the profound impact substance use can have on children, families, and future generations. Marla believes recovery is possible and is passionate about restoring hope when individuals and families may feel it has been lost. Through compassionate support and encouragement, she works to empower clients to recognize their worth, embrace recovery, and build healthier, more meaningful lives. For Marla, helping someone reclaim their life also represents an opportunity to create positive change that can extend to their loved ones and future generations. Her clinical practice is trauma-informed, individualized, and evidence-based. Marla recognizes the important relationship between traumatic experiences and the development and continuation of addictive behaviors. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other therapeutic interventions based on each client’s presenting concerns, strengths, stage of change, and treatment goals. Her approach is designed to help individuals develop insight, strengthen coping skills, build resilience, and work toward meaningful and sustainable recovery. One of the most fulfilling aspects of Marla’s work is witnessing individuals progress through the recovery and healing process. She values seeing clients overcome challenges, recognize their strengths, develop greater insight, and make meaningful changes that improve their overall well-being. These moments of growth continually reinforce her commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Outside of work, Marla enjoys spending time in and around the water, which provides her with a sense of relaxation and renewal. Whether swimming or taking a cruise, she appreciates opportunities to unwind, explore new destinations, connect with nature, and recharge.
